TOGETHER, WE CAN.
"Everything I do, I seek sustainability. By thinking sustainability, I create a working environment where others can wake up feeling inspired to go to, safe to experience unashamedly, and be fulfilled at the end of the day. I also happen to love the art of Acting."
ADRIAN CHOONG
Welcome to my world.
Adrian was born and raised in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Growing up to a family of highly effective leaders, he always aspired to one day be able to lead just like them and make a difference in this world. As he spent most of his childhood and youth playing basketball, it wasn't long before that passion transcended into him captaining his team to state and national basketball championships.
Adrian moved to Halifax, Canada in 2011, where he found a new passion and way to lead- Acting. He marvelled in the idea that through Acting, he was able to lead an audience, be it on screen or stage, through honest and truthful conversations. This passion for Acting was ignited from a drama class at Citadel High School that he stumbled upon by accident. That accident soon became reality and a "big bang" for him as he was accepted to the Acting program at The Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University.
There, he played Chorus Leader in The Oresteia (Directed by Zuppa Theatre), Josh Jackson in The Rimers of Eldritch (Directed by Rob McClure), Mustard-Seed, Starveling, Philostrate in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Directed by Philip Akin). In his graduating show, Coram Boy (Directed by Linda Moore)- the biggest production the school has seen, Adrian was offered his first lead role as Meshak Gardiner.
He is a recent graduate from The Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University, and took his first dip into the professional world with Halifax renowned- Shakespeare By The Sea. There, he acted in all 3 of their summer shows: Peter Pan, All's Well That Ends Well, and Julius Caesar. Shortly after, Adrian made his TV debut, playing the role of Chad P in eOne and Pop Tv's Let's Get Physical in its world premiere in January 2018.
Everyday, Adrian is grateful for that accident, that "big bang" and to everyone who continues to help him seek honesty and truthfulness in what he loves doing- Acting.
